Is it ok to skip free meals on a psmf diet?

I started out as category 3 and did my first cycle only having one free meal a week (thinking I was being virtuous), binged like crazy on my first diet break. Second cycle, someone more experienced on a different group suggested I do the program as created and have both free meals each week to keep myself from binging - lost great that cycle even though I was eating more calories per week, got down to category 2 quickly. No binging on that next diet break and I didn't binge any of my free meals either.

As far as what to eat for a free meal, I ate whatever I was craving most, although I tried to keep my day's calories to a maintenance level. It always involved carbs because I feel so much better when I eat carbs, but some people prefer to eat fat like a big steak and butter on their veggies. I always had a proper dessert like cake or pie or real ice cream because I have a hella sweet tooth.
