Interestingly, a variety of studies have been undertaken to gauge how effective Clenbuterol is for managing asthma and other types of issues like it.
The results were quite positive, showcasing the fact that Clenbuterol was a useful compound for managing breathing problems.
In fact, it is still used by some for this exact purpose. So just how did it transition away from this purpose and into use for muscle-building and fat-burning benefits?
Clenbuterol is an interesting substance because, when tested, it had the surprising benefit of binding with the receptors in your body that respond to epinephrine. That natural hormone is a useful one that helps to control and boost your metabolism and burn fat.

I’ve already talked heavily about the metabolic effect that Clenbuterol has on your body.
However, it’s hard to deny that this is the most significant benefit it offers. Studies have shown that taking Clenbuterol increases your metabolism by up to 10 percent even if you don’t exercise.
However, exercising also naturally increases your metabolism and, when paired with Clenbuterol, can boost it to even higher levels. The importance of an increased metabolism for weight loss and muscle burning cannot be emphasized enough here because these concepts are tied together so innately.

In fact, some studies have shown that Clenbuterol can not only help to build lean muscles in the body but prevent muscle atrophy.
That said, these studies did find that endurance benefits were either less pronounced or not noticed when taking Clenbuterol. Real endurance gains are only possible with sustained hard work.
Discussing all of the benefits of Clenbuterol would take up too much room here. While I summarized the most important points above, I also think it’s a good idea to briefly discuss a few of the other benefits below.
When taking Clenbuterol, you can expect:
Clenbuterol comes in many different forms, most of which center on how it is used.
There are several different ways that you can take Clenbuterol, each of which has its benefits and disadvantages. Let’s take a look at the most common types of Clenbuterol to give you an idea of which type is right for your exercise needs.
Note: These application methods will vary in availability depending on where you buy your Clenbuterol.
Some manufacturers focus on creating just one type while others make multiple options. Later on, I’ll discuss the variations in Clenbuterol brands and give you an idea of what to expect from them.
Spray pens are interesting to use because they allow you to ingest your Clenbuterol while on the go. They are usually quite small and easy to fit into most exercise packs. Just as importantly, they contain a particular dosing level that you can adjust based on your needs.
The downside of this type of pen is the cost. While they are one of the most common types sold on the market, they can be tricky to find and cost $10-20 more than other types. That said, they distribute your Clenbuterol very efficiently and maximize its benefits.
One of the easiest-to-find forms of Clenbuterol is the tablet type. These tablets allow you to take your Clenbuterol with food and provide one of the most precise dosages available. Most are split up into 20-50mcg doses, meaning that you can create an accurate and easy-to-control dosing schedule.
The most helpful thing about this form is that it goes into effect on your whole body instead of a single location. However, it does have a slight lag in effect because you need to digest it before it works. As a result, you need to wait at least 30-45 minutes after taking it before noticing the benefits.
Injections of Clenbuterol are a popular option for professional athletes because of their concentrated dosing. If you want to work just a single part of your body, you can inject Clenbuterol directly into it. Even better, the half-life is a little longer, which means it will affect your body for a lengthier period than other types of Clenbuterol.
Scars at the injection sites are the most common problem associated with this Clenbuterol type. While these can be minimized by spreading your injection destinations to different areas of the body, they can become noticeable very quickly. Unfortunately, it is also a lot harder to find injections than it is tablets, though they are available from some medical manufacturers.
Powders and gels are very similar in their benefits, which is why I am combining them here. The powder form is a good choice for someone who has trouble swallowing pills and who isn’t comfortable giving themselves an injection. Unfortunately, it is not often easily available from many manufacturers.
The gel form is the only topical type of this substance available on the market. Apply it directly to the area that you want to exercise during your workout, work it into the skin, and you should see results. You’ll start to notice extra heat on your body right away when applying this gel.
The exact origin of Clenbuterol has been lost to time and manufacturer indifference.
The first known use of the name was in the 1970s, though it was originally developed to help with asthma.
I already touched on some aspects of that in the first section of this article, so I won’t delve too deeply into it here.
While it is used in many areas around the world for managing asthma symptoms, it has become best known for performance enhancement.
That said, its most common medical use isn’t even on humans at all but on horses.
In fact, many countries don’t allow the use of Clenbuterol for medical purposes except on horses with breathing and congestion issues. The exact performance-enhancing benefits it has on horses are similar to those in humans, though perhaps not quite as potent.
As a result, it was banned from use in competitive horse racing events, unless it was shown that the horse had a legitimate reason to use it.
In some instances, there may be a waiting period before competition necessary for horses who have received it as a medication. Often, this is a week or two after the dosing stopped, as this gives the horse’s body time to adapt.
Some of the most interesting moments in Clenbuterol’s history lie in the number of athletes who have suffered from suspensions after using it.
For example, Olympic sprinter Katrin Krabbe’s career ended after she was caught using it before the 1992 Summer Olympics. As a result of her use, she received a three-year suspension that came at the tail-end of her career and forced her to call it quits.
And in 2008, during the US Olympic trials, American swimmer Jessica Hardy was given a one-year suspension when she tested positive for Clenbuterol. She stated that she took the drug by accident because it had been dosed in food without her knowledge.
Most people don’t believe these kinds of excuses and an athlete’s career can be tainted by what may have been the one-time use of a performance-enhancing substance.
And then again, some athletes get caught using Clenbuterol or other substances multiple times.
For example, MLB pitcher Guillermo Mota was given a 50-game suspension in 2006 after testing positive for Clenbuterol. And in 2012, he suffered a 100-game suspension that ended his whole season. Even worse, individuals in clubhouses have been found guilty of distributing and buying this supplement to athletes throughout the league, an activity that is both dangerous and illegal.
These issues touch on the legality of Clenbuterol and its use as a performance-enhancing drug.
I’ll talk more about that topic later on in this article, exploring its legal status across the nation and the world and where you can buy it.
However, now is an excellent time to transition to the various brand names of Clenbuterol that are available on the market around the world.
One thing that might surprise you is the vast array of Clenbuterol versions on the market.
That’s because it is not a patented medication and can be manufactured by a multitude of companies. As a result, there are dozens of companies available that produce it in a broad array of countries.
Honestly, I don’t have enough room in this short sub-section to discuss every variation of Clenbuterol available. Doing so would require a whole article. That said, it’s a good idea to touch on a handful to get an idea of what is available for you.
The different brand names of Clenbuterol that are currently available on the market include:
These are just the brand names available for tablets. Liquid and gel form varieties come in brands such as Medistar, Blue Sky Peptides, Madkson James Research, ClenPen Spray Pens, USA Peptides, Claire Gel, Extreme Peptides, RUI Products, and more.
The injection variations typically come in one of these brands, though there are specific manufacturers of these products available.
Honestly, there isn’t a whole lot of difference between one brand of Clenbuterol and the next. While the manufacturing process might differ in a few slight ways, most follow the same formula. As a result, there is typically only a difference in the amount used in a tablet.
For example, Alpha Pharma Astralean uses 40mcg tablets, which is one of the basic doses of Clenbuterol.
However, other groups, such as Genesis Labs Generic Clenbuterol, only produce 0.02mg tablets. These more concentrated forms must be carefully dosed to avoid complications.
One thing to take into consideration when buying these products is the country from which it originated.
Later on, I’ll discuss where you can purchase Clenbuterol and how the location of the manufacturer and supplier can affect the quality of this medication.
The legal status of Clenbuterol is confusing.
While it is not banned in the United States or many other countries, its use is strictly controlled.
Currently, it is only legally available to treat lung problems in horses.
In countries like the United Kingdom and Canada, you can buy and use Clenbuterol for whatever purpose you want but cannot act as a supplier.
That said, it is nearly impossible to get Clenbuterol from manufacturers in America. While there are companies who make it here, they sell strictly to veterinarians. In fact, you can’t even take veterinary Clenbuterol and give it to your horse without the help of a veterinarian. To do so would be illegal.
The FDA officially bans it as a dietary supplement. Beyond that, it has been banned by many sports organizations, including the IOC. That said, there are other countries where it is legal to own for any purpose, such as China and Russia.
Dosing with Clenbuterol varies depending on your needs.
A starting dose of 40mcg is common in men and 20mcg common in women. At this level, the reactions in your body will be quiet mild. You’ll feel some effects but won’t be at severe risk for overdose.
During a cycle, most people will slowly increase their dose by 20mcg every day or two until they reach a top level.
For women, that is usually 80-100mcg while men top off at 140mcg. Any higher and you seriously risk triggering side effects or causing an overdose. A full cycle of Clenbuterol will usually last no more than 2-3 weeks, at which point you take a break.
When it’s time to quit taking Clenbuterol, it is a good idea to slowly decrease your intake over the last few days of your cycle.
Try to work your way down to a 20-40mcg range. This step is smart because it helps you avoid adverse withdrawal symptoms. At this point, you need to wait at least 1-3 weeks before you start again. But I’ll cover that topic in more detail in the section on Clenbuterol cycles.
While Clenbuterol is safer to use than steroids, it is still a drug.
That means it has a multitude of effects on your body, some of which are negative. Unfortunately, some of these problems can threaten your life when they occur. Thankfully, most occur in limited instances and only when taking high doses.
That said, anybody who is interested in Clenbuterol needs to understand the possibilities of health complications when taking it. This section will take a look at the short-term effects, the longer-term issues, and the symptoms of an overdose that could lead to an increase in side effect occurrence.
Thankfully, most of the side effects of this supplement are usually short and not that severe.
For example, you may suffer from a temporarily increased heart rate, nausea, tremors in the hands, anxiety, headaches, and sweating. These issues will come and go in those in whom they occur.
Not everybody will experience these types of side effects, and many will vary in intensity. Like with steroids, higher doses of Clenbuterol will lead to both an increased risk of side effects and worsened severity. That’s why it is essential to stick to the dosing recommendations I suggested.
Most of these side effects will disappear after you stop taking Clenbuterol. By the time you are a day or two into your break period, they shouldn’t recur at all. However, there are some long-term side effects that you need to understand before starting.
While the long-term effects of Clenbuterol are less known and tested, there have been a few instances of problematic reactions occurring for a lengthy period. For example, animal studies on Clenbuterol found that sustained use may cause an increase in the size of your heart muscle cells.
That’s because Clenbuterol causes an increase of collagen in your heart. As your heart cells increase in size, they will become less flexible and become inefficient at pumping blood. This reaction can cause confusion, nausea, and other problems.
Even worse, there is evidence that this may cause irregular heartbeats that increase your risk of strokes and heart attacks. The exact extent of these dangers in humans is uncertain. However, studies have also found that sustained use (such as four weeks of very high doses) may cause cardiac atrophy.
Other issues that must be considered include the effects that Clenbuterol has on your bone structure. In animal studies, it has been shown to increase bone fragility by making it more difficult for your bones to rebuild. That’s why an increased risk of fractures is one of the most common side effects of Clenbuterol.
When you take a serving of Clenbuterol over 160mcg, you greatly increase your risk of an overdose.
Overdoses cause a variety of symptoms that are painful and potentially life-threatening if they are not managed immediately. Just as problematically, your chance of suffering from other types of side effects increases when you overdose. Just a few symptoms to watch out for include:
The moment you notice these symptoms, it is time to stop taking Clenbuterol and visit a doctor immediately. They can void your system of this drug and ensure that you don’t suffer from life-long problems. After that, they can give you recovery medications to help your body heal from what can be a scary and unfortunate situation.
Some users are tempted to use Clenbuterol for longer than 2-3 weeks because they think it will increase its effectiveness.
That is not the case. Unfortunately, the exact opposite is true. People who use Clenbuterol for longer than three weeks are going to not only see a decrease in their weight loss but a potential weight gain.
That’s because of the saturation problem I’ve mentioned in previous sections. When your body’s beta-2 receptors are too saturated with Clenbuterol, they’ll stop working. As a result, your body’s metabolism will grind to a halt, and the exercise and diet routine that had helped you cut all that weight is going to pack on the pounds instead.
Cycling with Clenbuterol is typically done in a variety of ways.
Most users take it intermittently, meaning that they take breaks that are as long as their use period. For example, some may use it for three days in a row before taking a break of three days. They then continue following this cycle for weeks, such as eight, and then take a break of the same length.
Taking Clenbuterol in this way is done so as not to saturate your beta-2 receptors with too much of it all at once.
Failure to take a break can cause your receptors to grow numb to Clenbuterol, which will cause it to lose its effectiveness. Cycling will, therefore, give its efficacy a boost and increase how well it works for your body and your muscle gains.
I’ve already discussed how users should start with a dose of about 20-40 mcg on their first day and then increase their limit up to 80-120mcg by upping their dose by 20mcg every other day.
Once you have reached this high point, you can stay at it until your cycle is done. If you are trying to build muscles instead of losing weight, cycling should be done using one of the following methods below.
While there are many types of steroids on the market that you can cycle with Clenbuterol, there are a handful that work very well with it.
If you are going to bulk up using steroids and you want to use Clenbuterol, the following options are your best bet:
Later on in this section, I’ll discuss a few stacking options that you can use for your Clenbuterol cycle.
This information should give you a good idea of how to start your cycle, what kind of doses you can tolerate, and which steroids or supplements work best for your needs.
The early cycle is a good choice for people who are just starting their Clenbuterol regiment. A dosing period of about two weeks is a good place to start. Going any higher risks saturating your beta-2 receptors with too much Clenbuterol too soon.
Aim for about 40mcg per day if you are a woman and 80mcg per day if you are a man. Increase your doses, as I mentioned above, to reach those levels. A break period of at least 1-2 weeks is necessary after you finish. Two weeks is probably your best choice because it’ll clean your body more thoroughly.
After you go through at least two or three early cycles of Clenbuterol, you can progress to the advanced cycle. It lasts for three weeks for both men and women with breaks of 1-3 weeks between your dosing. Shorter breaks let you get started on your schedule sooner but may not effectively clean your body of this supplement and cause saturation.
The dosing levels are much higher for both women and men during this cycle. Women should stick to an 80mcg per day dosage, working up to it the same way they did with the early period. Men can go all the way up to 160mcg per day, though I think that 140mcg is probably the best middle ground because it decreases your risk of saturation.
The following sections will discuss a few useful stacking options for Clenbuterol.
Each supplement will be described in depth to ensure that you understand why it is useful for your dosing.
A schedule will then be highlighted to make it easier for you to take these steroids and supplements properly.
This supplement simulates the natural hormone Cytomel, which is used to keep your thyroid operating properly. It works in a slightly different manner than Clenbuterol but produces similar results. When using it properly, your metabolism will increase due to boosted activity in your thyroid gland.
Stacking this supplement with Clenbuterol should be done on a schedule of no more than 2-3 weeks. And after that period is over, you need to take a break that matches your dosing period. You can take 25-100mcg of T3 per day safely when pairing it with Clenbuterol.
When taking this supplement, most people will split up their dosage into at least 2-4 different dosing periods in a day. That’s because it has a very high half-life and will disappear from your body in a few hours. Spreading your dose out evenly through the day ensures it remains active.
Taurine, like Clenbuterol, helps to increase your ability to tone muscle or burn fat. Taking a synthetic version while dosing with Clenbuterol is critical. That’s because the extended use of Clenbuterol will cause your natural Taurine levels in the liver to drop exponentially.
When this happens, you’ll experience severe cramps that can halt your exercise and make life difficult and painful. You may also notice a rebound effect, i.e., a decrease in your exercise effectiveness. Thankfully, taking a 3-5g supplement of Taurine can help you avoid this problematic issue.
If you want to cut your muscles, Clenbuterol and Anavar are potent partners. Anavar is one of the least problematic types of steroids on the market because it has a low anabolic ratio.
This fact means that you are less likely to suffer from problematic reactions to it, such as developing breasts. It also makes it safer for women to take for extended periods.
Cycling with these two substances should be done in a two-week period and consist of one week of Clenbuterol and another week of Anavar. The first week prepares your body for the Anavar and makes it more potent.
A typical cycling schedule of this type includes:
Other supplements, such as Winstrol, follow a very similar process. Make sure that you pay attention to your body’s reaction to these products.
If you find that you are suffering adverse affects, it is wise to talk to a doctor to learn more about how you can prevent their recurrence.
Most muscle-building supplements require the use of post-cycle therapy or PCT to get your body back to a normal hormone balance. PCT helps to increase your body’s natural production of testosterone and keeps you from losing muscles.
Clenbuterol is unique among the supplements I’ve examined because it not only doesn’t require PCT but can be used during PCT for other steroids.
In fact, taking a small supplement of Clenbuterol during PCT helps to increase your level of energy without affecting your testosterone levels.
Therefore, you can continue to workout heavily during your PCT without experiencing severe adverse side effects. While not all lifters and steroid users will enjoy the use of Clenbuterol for PCT, it may be beneficial for you.
The exact amount you should take will also vary depending on the prior intensity of your muscle-building routines.
I suggest that you take the same dose you were using during your steroid cycle. Make sure, however, that you stop taking Clenbuterol after your PCT is over. That’s because Clenbuterol, while less problematic than steroids, can still affect the way your body operates chemically.
The use of Clenbuterol during PCT goes best if you were using Trenbolone, Deca Durabolin, Dianabol, or Anadrol during your training.
The legal alternatives to these supplements also pair well with Clenbuterol for PCT. As always, follow the cycling schedule suggest above to ensure that you get the results you want without sacrificing your potential gains.

While Clenbuterol is a beneficial product for people who are trying to burn fat and gain muscles, it is too heavily controlled for most people to risk. Nobody wants to go to jail for buying and using Clenbuterol, which is why I always suggest trying legal alternatives instead.
